Select and do a CASE STUDY of any non-profitable organization/society that you would love to help out. Find out what they do and why you would love to help them out!

The case study should include these details:
Name of the selected organization/society
What do they represent?
What are their activities?
Your involvement with them. (Past, present or plan to be involved)
Immediate NEEDs that you can think of in the organization/society.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is a registered animal welfare charity with IPC status.

The SPCA is not a government agency. We rely on donations from our supporters to continue our important role as animal protector.

As the only animal welfare shelter in Singapore that does not turn away any animal brought in, the SPCA receives more than 800 unwanted pets and stray animals every month.

The two main objectives of the SPCA are:
- To promote kindness to animals and birds
- To prevent cruelty to animals and birds

The Society provides many animal welfare services to the community including:
- A 24-hour ambulance service for sick, injured and very young animals
- Investigation of cruelty complaints
- Public education programme for students and adults
- A clinic for sterilisation and general treatment of stray animals
- Adoption programme
- A service for lost and found pets
- Advocacy for the humane treatment of animals
- Sterilisation voucher programme for strays

I chose SPCA becos' I've always had a 'thing' for animals and I just love them. I grew up with them since young and having such a close relationship with them, I don't see why I shoudn't help them. There are animals out there all alone, afraid, with no food or shelter. And it hurts me to know and see such things. A pet to me is like family, I don't see why there are people out there can be so heratless to leave their pet stranded on the streets, thinking they can defend on their own. They are meant to be loved, not be left aside to rot. And I want to do something about it, to put a stop to this once and for all.

I was a SPCA member in Primary School, now I'm not. I can't remember why I stopped but I hope I could go back again. What I want to do for this organisation is to do volunteerary work, it'll be so cool! There'll be animlas everywhere! I don't need the money or anything, it's the passion and satisfaction that keeps me going.

Game Plan
Assignment #1

Before I begin, I'd like to NOT count the first week of school, that's like orientation day like? Since nest year is gonna be super hactic, I'd give this pan about max 2 months, that seems fair.Yeah. So, since we've got that cleared out, let's begin.

  • Week 1 - Understanding the THEME. This is where I would do a Mind Map and think of the different categories that relate back to the theme. This includes research and a lot of brainstorming!
  • Week 2 - More research (Research is Vital) Think of the possible problems that people face in our daily lives.
  • Week 3 - After looking into all the problems listed down, analyse them and finalise which problem is the best design opportunity!
  • Week 4 - Use PIES and/or SCAMPER to analyse this problem and research like hell on this particular problem.
  • Week 5 - Make a Persona Profile or a Mood Board to inspire and trigger your mind.
  • Week 6/7 - Sketch and Think throughly of all the all the possible designs.
  • Week 8 - Choose your final design and consult Mr Fiz for any misunderstandings or confirmation.
  • Week 9 - Make/ do any adjustments to your design.
  • Week 10 - Design and make.
